Hi, I am trying to set up a master file in word that is linked to another
file. I would like the master file to get updated with the information from
the the other file. For eg. if the master contains members of staff details
and a new member joins their details get updated on to the master copy. Is
this possible to do automaticaly if so can you tell me how.
Thanks.

No, there's certainly nothing in Word that supports this kind of database
functionality. It would be possible to program it (macros), but if what you're
doing is more than a very simple table, the project would be non-trivial.
