Setting up a VPN

I am trying to set up a VPN for a remote domain. I can set up the connection
and it connects fine but I cannot access any resources nor can I run a login
script. When I reboot I do not get an option to login using a Dial-up
connection because this machine has never been joined to a domain before.

In most cases, a VPN client can access whole resources without joining the domain. Can you ping the DC by IP? if yes, it could be the name resolution issue. You may want to use WINS for name resolution since you have a domain.
