As per title, I want to setup a lan with two ip addresses on the
internet. Both machines are not physically located near each other, so
Network cabling etc is not applicable. Both machines are connected via
internet so I need advise on how to 'emulate' lan via TCP/IP.

I know it can be done, as programs such as Kali in the past did this.
Is there a free solution? If not could you advise?

Both are running winxp pro.

Any advise?

In addition to the other good reply - note that it ain't really a LAN unless
it's Local.

Many thanks for the details. I will be looking into the VPN to see if
that will work. What I was trying to do was quite simply play LAN
games via TCPIP for games that do not have a TCPIP option. I will give
VPN a bash and see if that works.

Sadly, VPN did not work. Could you advise of any other software that
would simulate LAN via two IP addresses?
