Setting Rules on Additional Mailboxes

I'm running Outlook 2000 with an Microsft Exchange 2000 server. I'm trying
to set up a rule on an additional mailbox used by the whole group so that
anyone logged in who sees this mailbox will get a pop up special notification
when certain mails arrive in this inbox. While I can get it to work fine if
the mails arrive in my inbox I can't get it to work from the secondary. I've
tried logging on to an account which has the secondary mail box as it's
primary profile and setting up the rule there but while it works fine for
this primary account it doesn't work for those which only see the mail box as
an additional mail box. Any ideas how to get round this please ?

You can't run rules on secondary mailboxes - only the primary one for the
profile. It may be possible to write some VBA code which would monitor that
box for new items and give you a message box alerting you to new mail.

Ben,
following on that theme, i have about a dozen mailboxes i need to keep tabs
on and need an alerting process to new mail arriving in those mailboxes. I
dont want the original or forwarded copy, i just need to know new mail has
arrived.
I am not sure about creating any VBA code, so do you know if there is any
other sort of solution available ?

Many thanks
Terry
