Setting Reply Format to HTML

Outlook 2003. Word 2003. I use Word 2003 as my email editor/creator. When
I create a new message the format is set to HTML. However, when I reply to a
message, it often comes up in plain text format. What do I need to set to
ensure that my replies are in HTML format? Thanks and God bless.
 
Open the message, hit Reply and your reply will initially appear in plain
text, then select Format and HTML and your reply will chnage to HTML format.
 
Dear Newsgroup. I apologize for not having searched this forum for previous
answers to the same question. I now realize that even when Outlook is set to
create messages in HTML, it will still use plain text on a reply if the
original message was in plain text. Now I get it. Thanks.
