Setting of computer name and Workgroup in WinXP Home

Hi,
since some time it is impossible on my laptop to set the computer name and
Workgroup name since the OK button is not lit anymore. (The textboxes are
still active so names can be changed, however ... see before)
Unfortunately I do not know which event, installation, update , you name it
caused this problem.
I would be very grateful if somebody has an idea how to reactivate this
function! Is there for instance any registry setting which could be
(re)adjusted?

Try tapping the F8 key on start-up,select safe mode,enter xp as
administrator,
make the changes.
