running Outlook 2000 in Internet email only mode.
Have one default mailbox with Contact folder
and another mailbox created when i imported pst file into outlook.
The imported mailbox has the updated contacts but i can't figure out
how to make them default. So everytime i create a new message I have to
choose the correct contact folder by using the drop down field. Not a big
deal
but its driving me crazy not knowing how to fix it.

TIA

Right click on your contacts folder, go to properties, Outlook Address Book,
and tick the box.

If it's grayed out, you need to add the Outlook Address Book service to your
mail profile - tools | services.

In fact, you cannot change this configuration in IMO mode. You are using the
Windows Address Book engine, not the Outlook Address Book.
