When sending an email, I dont want my "own" name to
appear. How can I change where my name appears in the from
section of the email. thanx

Hello,

the from section is the email section. It signs your email.
So you have to choose another email name.
If I send you an E Mail you never see my real name,
because i use an alias.
Or do you mean another thing?

thanx for responding, where do I have to go to change my
name. Ive been into tools and options accounts and I
cannot find it. thanx

in OL2000 go to:

TOOLS:ACCOUNTS:

highlight the account you want to change and click PROPERTIES

in the USER information type any name that suits your purpose in the
NAME field and any E-MAIL or REPLY address you want in those fields.

thank you for responding.
I went into outlook, tools, accounts....I cant find the
spot that allows you to change the name. the tabs that
show are: "all", "mail","News", "directory service" Under
the tab of "Mail" the name that I have to appear is Helen,
however, when someone receives an email from me, they get
both first and last name, and this is what I would like to
correct.Your help would be greatly appreciated. thanx

You're using Outlook Express, not Outlook. Very different program.

That said, open the "Helen" profile you see listed under the Mail tab
and you should find a field with your name in it that you can change.
For the future...This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000,
2002 & 2003 from the Office family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE)
support try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this
group try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the
source for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:
http://www.tomsterdam.com

That's OE, not Outlook. Did you click on Helen then on properties? It's
in the properties dialog somewhere...
