set services to default

Is there a reset to default button somewhere that sets the xp services to
their default settings. I am suddenly unable to play sound files but I am
certain everything is installed and set up correctly. Pretty sure its
something to do with a Service as this is onyl happening since I was in
there last but which one deals with sound?
