Jan did you read David's earlier replys to Brian there
is no courtesy with regards to David Candy, I would
question any advice from someone so rude. Some posters
such as David post malicious information which could
make a users system unstable as he is.

Brian,

Open Registry Editor and goto:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\
Create a subkey named "."

The path is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.

In the right-pane, create a key named "Application" (string value) and type it's data as Notepad.

Now, dbl-click a file with unnamed extension. It should open with Notepad.

I've not posted anything malicious. Scarcastic - yes. Nasty at stupid people - yes. But not a single damaging thing in the tens of thousands of helpful posts I've made.

Doh,

This statement is not true. Believe me, I've never seen an incorrect answer/posting from David so far.

Doh,

This statement is not true. Believe me, I've never seen an incorrect answer/posting from David so far.

You don't consider it to be incorrect to treat computer neophytes as
"stupid" and to respond to them in a "nasty" way?

People like David give a bad name to the entire MVP program.

Hi Michael,

I was replying to the statement "David post malicious information" made by someone earlier. And yes, you may see some sarcastic replies from him, but the answers are a real "GEM".

Definitely agree. David's answers are always highlighted in my newsreader
so that I don't miss any of them.
