Set new default charts

How do you set default charts/graphs in PP 2007?

I tried with 'save as default chart' and 'save as template'. I can save, but
can't pull the default later. PP does not recognize the format or something.

What I'm trying to set is defautl graphs with my own scale, own font
size/colors, etc.

....sorry, I don't have an answer yet (I started with PP2007 only recently and
still run PP2002 in parallel) but I would like to know. Right now I am
tweaking with a Theme Builder, but I didn't figure out how to manage
different standards for Word and PP.
