Set Defender to scan local drives only

I have an issue with Defender (win 7) scaning mapped network drives at work,
this consumes unnecessary network resources etc and i would like to set it to
only scan my local drives and removeable media.

Is there anyway to set this in defender? preferebly through a policy
setting...?

There is a policy file distributed with Windows Defender, but it has only
the most basic stuff in it--basically, enough to disable the app.

Windows Defender is not designed for enterprise use, where group policy
settings are appropriate.

Are you doing full scans, or quick scans? I'd strongly recommend sticking
with quick scans unless something is found.
