Problem: Encountered this problem with a friends NTFS XP Pro
SP2 laptop: session_3_initialization_failed stop 0x0000006f
(00000102,00000000,00000000). He had been using the computer trouble
free for 3 weeks. Bad internet habits are probably to blame. I'm
guessing it was a worm or the likes.

Solution (?) : After searching this group and
support.microsoft.com it looked like a reinstall was in order. I was
going to use my XP Pro SP1 disc to install a working copy of windows in
another folder so I could install the Recovery Console. The disc
booted and did whatever it does up to the point where it "checks for
existing windows installations." Then it asked me to reboot. Then the
original copy of windows that was in trouble started up fine...go
figure.
