Services.exe terminated.... status code 128...

Hi,

I need help. I have been getting a shutdown error lately
and I thought I found the cure on the support page but my
registry does not include a shares folder. I was told to
locate the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanman
server\Shares

When I opened the lanmanserver folder it does not contain
a shares folder. It only contains a parameters folder.

Any ideas?

Then you have no local resources shared. Either there are no shares
or perhaps File and Printer Sharing was never installed.
Test by attempting to Share a local Folder.

As to the KB text:
""SERVICES.EXE Terminated Unexpectedly with Status Code 128" Error
Message When You Start Windows 2000"

If that exactly describes your problem then I do not know of other
causes for that error message text. Except that KBA 315105 talks of
"Gateway Services for NetWare" and 308712 talks of "BearShare".
