Hi, I have 3 PCs all running the up-to-date version of Win2000SP4 with Zone Alarm pro firewall/ antivirus. One PC brings up an alarm on start-up that 'services.exe' is trying to access the internet. A quick google confused me about whether this is a worm or part of Windows. There is another thread in this forum but it seems to be WinXP. Zone Alarm and AVG scans say my system is clean.
Any ideas?

Yes, you can allow "services.exe" to access the Internet.

services.exe is a part of the Microsoft Windows Operating System and manages the operation of starting and stopping services. This process also deals with the automatic starting of services during the computers boot-up and the stopping of services during shut-down. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated.

You can get a second opinion via any on-line virus scanner.
