Services.exe Error

Help! I run Window 2000 on my laptop and get the following error sporadically

Services.exe - Application Error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click OK to terminate application

Then it goes to : The system process c:\\WINNT\Systen32\Service.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128

The error gives a 60 second count down and then reboots. I've done several types of virus checks and spyware checks...nothing. Can anyone help me?
 
Just in case anyone wants to know how to solve this problem. I had a tech look into and the problem is solved by downloading the Windows 2000 Service pack.
