Getting Services.exe terminated unexpectedly system shutdown error

When I start my machine windows throws "Services.exe terminated unexpectedly
system shutdown error 128". I tried the solution provided at
support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;Q318447 , but still I am getting the
same error.
I am able to start the machine in safe mode and also able to log in to
recovery console. I need help urgently. Any solution other than reinstalling
OS?

Is this the right place to post this question?
Is there nayway I can look at some kind of log and figure out what is the
problem with services.exe. I need urgent help.
