after installing all service packs . later on a month or
two i have to re-install win 2000 Pro. is thare any way to
save and re-install service packs without having to re-
download all of them thanks Steve

You dont have to download all SPs again. The latest SP4 contains fixes made
in SP1, Sp2 and SP3 since SPs are cumulative by nature. So, if you install
Win2000 Pro later and just apply SP4, you should be fine. hope this helps.

you can also slipstream a service pack into the Windows 2000 CD. This will
install Windows2000 and the Service Pack you slipstreamed altogether - which
means you won't have to apply the SP after a re-installation of Windows
2000.
