The answer to your question depends on the type of installation you have? Is
this a system that came with a pre-installed version of XP?

Is this a new computer that came preinstalled with XP?
If so, you need to tell the people who you bought this
from that the key is invalid and that they need to give
you a new one.

Hi

I'm having the same problem with the error message 'This version of windows is incompatible'. The software was preinstalled although I have had to carry out a rebuild since. It's after the rebuild the error appeared as I installed SP1 without any problems. I've tried to save the download to my H/D and do the install that way. nada.
The product key is ok as I've verified it fine. I've tried Microsoft support but once they found out I was in the UK they just directed me to the UK support who haven't got a clue.

Please help before it drives me mad

Kelly
