Service Pack questions

I re-installed Windows Vista Home Premium x86 2 weeks ago. Before
that I was able to get Service Pack 1 through Windows Update. Now I
have not seen it in Windows Update. I thought Microsoft said by mid-
April it will automatically show up in Windows Update. It is almost
May and I have not been able to get the Service Pack again. Also why
is Windows Update telling me that I need to download and install
Office 2003 Service Pack 3 when I don't have Office 2003 installed. I
have Office 2007 installed so what does Office 2003 Service Pack 3
have to do with anything.

When I got SP1 through Windows Update it wasn't easy. I kept telling Windows
Update to look for updates even if it said there were none. Eventually it
found a couple of updates that I installed and rebooted after each update
even if Windows Update didn't tell me to restart. Then it found SP1 and
installed it. The whole process of getting SP1 offered took about 15
minutes. Don't know if it will work for anybody else, don't know if it was
coincidence.

Check this out: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948343#method5
I had cause 5 issues, and just uninstalled the offending driver. Windows
automatically reinstalled generic drivers that were OK.
Then I rebooted, checked for updates, and there SP1 was, ready to DL.

I do have FrontPage installed but I installed it from the Office XP/
2002 disc. I don't have add/remove programs. I went to control
panel>programs>program and features and did not see anything from
Office 2003. Then I opened Windows Update and clicked on check for
updates and it was no longer there. Also I still do not have Vista
SP1. When I reinstalled Windows and all other programs on to my
laptop I have been checking and installing as they show up. Would I
be able to go to the Microsoft Downloads site and download it from
there and then install it that way or should I wait for it to show up
in Windows Update and download and install it then.
