I have installed service pack 2 and now every time i load
internet explorer it takes a long time to load. It just
says detecting proxy settings. Browsing pages are still
fine.
Anyone else had this problem?

Not exactly but when I downloaded service pack 2 it took
forever and now I have lost the ability to use disk clean
and defrag functions...I'm afraid there are some BIG bugs
in service pack 2.

To joe:

In Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings:

Uncheck everything. If that doesn't work, switch to the Advanced Tab and
play with the "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections" (if it's on, turn it
off. If it's off, turn it on).

Before doing this, contact your isp and ask them if they use proxy servers.
