Service Pack 2 Security Center won't save settings

Hello,
I have a Dell GX-260 with SP2. We have Norton Antiviruse
installed. We have a firewall on campus. So basically
we don't need the Security Center to monitor the virus
protection or the firewall. I have changed the settings
to say I'll monitor them myself. I have also unchecked
the option to alert me if anything changes. I'd
appreciate any input.

Had same problem and decided to disable the Security Center service so that it
bugs me no more.
