I have a Toshiba Satellite 1805-S204 laptop with
a TEAC DV-28E-B DVD-Rom. I have twice just re-loaded
XP onto my laptop and updated to SP2. Now my DVD
drive does not recognize any dvds. I re-loaded due
to this problem originally. I have backed off the
service pack 2, but still no luck.

Any suggestions about what to do next?

Suck it up Marine! Seriously, check the properties of the drive in My
Computer by right clicking the drive and choosing Properties. Make sure it
is enabled to read disks. Also make sure you have the latest drivers before
installing SP 2.
