TSSTcorp DVD Code 41 - DVD not playing and yellow icon

Lan Trouble

I cannot view my 2 DVD ROMs in My Computer and I get an error "Windows
successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the
hardware device. (Code 41)" when viewing the DVD in Device manager. It shows
the correct hardware just with a yellow exclamation point.
The DCD ROMs will not recognize/play any DVD/CD I put in them. The Samsung
Live Update thingy dosen't find any hardware (I think it tells me that, it
actually says, says and I quote: "In your system, any kind of CD-ROM device
is searched" WTF does that mean?)

When I uninstall the DVD ROMs (2 of them) Windows XP (SP3) finds them and
installs them. When I tell it to update the drivers it say it can't find any
newer versions. But when I download the .exe firmware update from Samsun it
says it cannot find any DVDs and exits. The WinInquiery.exe from Samsung also
does not see any DVDs.

If I start Daemon tools it will mount a cd/dvd but nothing will appear in My
Computer and nothing starts running.

Microsofts Automated Trouble Shooting Service didn't do crap (not that I
expected it to).

So what is wrong?

Oh, and I have made sure every cable is plugged in snugly about 3 times
already.
