service pack 2 install problem

Gregg McClintic

I've cleaned my drive and installed windows XP. First
thing I did was go to install service pack 2. Got an
error that says the install (for the service pack) cant
find the file pinc.exe I try to cancel and it unistalls
the service pack and explains that windows may not
function correctly. Even did a find on the drive to find
no file with that name, and also did a google in groups
to find nothing. Anyone seen this same error?

Gregg,

no, but the first suspicion is that the service pack 2 you used
was incomplete or damaged.

You could download it (again) or order it on CD.
