Service Pack 2- Help

I've uninstalled SP2 for the second time, as I've logged hours on the help
site looking for a solution. If anyone can help, you're wonderful.

Working from XP Home Edition. Everytime I load SP2 I am no longer able to
open Internet Explorer (window opens for one second, then closes). I have
turned off the firewall, but this seems to solve nothing. I have also made
sure to include the "File and Printer Sharing" exception as well. This is
driving me to drink.

Thank you ahead of time for sharing.

After SP2 is installed but before you restart,open cmd,in cmd type:CHKDSK
C: /F
With youre IE problem,try opening event viewer for details,click on the url
in a event/warning,this opens help/support in xp usually with an answer or a
fix...
