Hi,

I know, this toppic may be discussed many times and I read many things but
nothing helped.
My PC has an Athlon 64 and after installing service pack 2 for WinXP the
system boots incompletely 6 out of 10 times.
In that case windows boots nearly complete but the icons in the systray are
not all there. When I see this I know what happens. No program can be
started. If I do so teh system crashes completely and has to be switched off
manually. If I try to shut down, system crashes as well.
Please, I really want to use SP2 but it has to be stable. Is there a
solution to solve my problem?
Thanx in advance...

Greets,
Ralf

Check the MS website. I seem to remember that SP2 does not work properly
with 64-bit AMD processors.

Then you remember incorrectly. SP2 works perfectly with 64-bit CPUs. It's
some /Prescott/ CPUs it has issues with and then only if the revision is
less than 12 (C in hexadecimal).

Hexadecimal

0-9

Then

A = 10
B = 11
C = 12
D = 13
E = 14
F = 15
