Service pack 1 download problems

Every tine I try and install the SP1a, I get this message:
Service Pack 1 Setup Error
---------------------------
The following error occurred while Service Pack 1 Setup
attempted to download the Service Pack 1 files from the
Internet:

The server did not respond.

If this error persists after you have clicked Retry several
times, go to the Windows XP Service Pack Web site and
select "Problems Downloading the Service Pack." This will
give you instructions on how to download a version of the
Service Pack that does not require a Web connection during
installation.

It downloads for about 30 seconds and freezes. I have a DSL
connection running through a router that maintains my
connection ( I monitor the connection throughout the whole
process and I never drop) What gives?

Is there an answer to this one yet? I'm getting the same error message...only difference is that I'm using a dial-up connection.

I use AOL as my browser - the first time I left it running only to find that AOL had disconnected and interrupted the installation. (separate problem). I tried again, staying with the computer to ensure there was no disconnection. About 95% of the way through the process (I didn't lose the internet connection at any point), I got the same error message you describe. I don't really want to try the version that doesn't require internet connection to install as it will take hours to download.

Cheers

Minimize AOL and use Internet Explorer instead.
