I have some errors in my event viewer as follows:-

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000
Date: 30/05/05
Time: 08:27:29 AM
User: N/A
Computer: JOEL
Description:
The CxTuner, WDM TvTuner service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it
has no enabled devices associated with it.

This is remnants of a TV tuner card that I removed.
Do I need to use regedit to sort this out or is there a more friendly
application!!

Thanks

Joel

Hi Joel,

Start/run msconfig, go to the services tab. Click the box to hide all
Microsoft services. Then look at the remaining list for the one that you
have giving the error. Uncheck that one. Then click apply/ok and reboot. It
doesn't need to be removed, just disabled. You could also do this by running
the services snapin (start/run services.msc) and set the startup type for
that service to disabled.

Thanks Rick.
I had already tried what you suggested but the services giving trouble were
not listed!!!

What next?
