Hi there,
I have a dell poweredge server as windows 2000 server, I recently
updated all SCSI drivers, Bios, firmware, etc and I still get about once
every few weeks an unexpected server shutdown.
"The previous shutdown at ... was unexpected, Event ID 6008". What is the
problem? Thanks a lot, Calin

We have had a lot of trouble with Dell 2450 and 2650 servers. Dell has gone
so far as to replace them for us. The problems resulted in bad
motherboards. Not sure if this is the same problem but this is my
experience.

We have two Dell PowerEdge 1600SC and both motherboards was changed. In
one of them the SCSI card controller & the hard disk was replaced too.
In this Dell server models I see the problem in the too-hot hard disk.
No air goes near of the disks. There are 0-5 slots for SCSI disks, but
with one-disk system the near black 1-5 disk-repository should be quit
to ensure the air go inside.
By otherwise, the Intel Xeon CPU is not great for me. Dell should try
with AMD.-
