Server Home Directory and Working Directory Same

This might sound like a strange possibility, but is it possible to edit HTML
files in the server directory without affecting the publishing settings? I
have some HTML files that need to be edited. But, my server (which is in my
home on my home network) is not making a good solid connection between server
and remote right now with FP2003.

So, could I edit the files and even add to the web files directly onto the
server? Or would that completely screw things up even more?

You can edit "live" on the server. Just go to file - open web -
http://www.example.com and find the files you want to edit and hit save.

You can also publish from the server to the local computer:
http://www.timeforweb.com/frontpage/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4988&PN=2 -
this way, it will make sure that your changes are saved locally as well.

I will try that when I get home tonight and see what happens. I hope it
works because I am about to break my system. Not literally of course. But I
am sure you get what I mean.
