Server for local web

Migrating from Windows 2000 and FP 2002 to Windows XP and FP 2003. With
FP2002 I published webs to my desktop PC into an inet folder. The local
server was IIS. With this new laptop, Win XP and FP2003, how does one setup
for publishing locally? Is there an IIS with Win XP. If not, is it needed?

Thanks,

Jack

XP Pro supports a server, XP Home not.

You must have Windows XP Pro in order to have IIS. If you have Windows XP Pro, then go to Control
Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Windows Components

Since FP2000, a server is not needed locally unless you intend to test
server side scripts, forms, hit counters etc. If you use DWTs then disc
based webs will be more convenient than IIS on Windows XP Pro.
