Server/Client access for transport

I am running Windows 2000 servers and Windows XP clients.
I would like to know if it is possible, from my server or
a terminal services connection to the server, to place a
file or an .exe on a clients desktop? What services need
to be turned on and is this possible on Win2K server. I
did this on Windows NT server, but cannot figure out how
on 2000 to XP clients.

the quickest way would be to just go through the default share on that
workstation and dump it there.

for example:

\\workstation\c$

provided you are logged on as administrator or an account which has rights
to that local workstation.
