Serious Problems with pc shutting down...

OK....so heres the deal...about a month ago or so... Everytime I pressed the
"on" button on my pc...my power supply would start....you could hear the hard
drive start to boot up...and then BLAM!....the pc shuts off before it even
gets to the boot screen. No blue screen of death or anything....it just shut
off. And at times it will do this up to 15 times in a row before actually
booting up all the way. Well, at first I thought it could have been the
power supply...so I bought an uber Aspire 550watt psu.....STILL SHUTS DOWN
SOMETIMES!!!!...I'm beginning to think its some type of internal software
problem maybe. Anyone got any other suggestions on the matter? Keep in mind
that I have had this computer for almost 1.5 years now....and it just started
doing this about a month or so ago....so that pretty much cancels out
hardware confliction. Thanks guys. Help is appreciated!

Cannot be a software problem - there is no software running when the ON
switch is pushed. But, the BIOS is being addressed at this time. From what
you said you have a hardware problem; motherboard, cpu, memory, PSU, video
card etc.

Disconnect everything you can and see what happens. Minimum is motherboard,
cpu, one memory stick, Windows boot drive, video card, mouse, keyboard.
Nothing on the USB, PS2, serial, or parallel ports (unless its the mouse or
keyboard).
