Serial Port (COM1) Troubleshooting

I use the COM1 port to load a firmware application into a specific hardware,
it only comunicates through serial port, and at one day the COM1 just stop
working and it only works if I uninstall it and reboot the computer because
when the windows log on again it installs the COM1 driver by it self and the
COM1 works again until the computer be turned off and I have to repeat the
process to make the port works again.

Does anybody know what is this?

The problem you are seeing is probably because the device that you
have connected to the serial port is transmitting data when Windows
boots up and Windows is installing the serial mouse driver for the
port by mistake. To test this, unplug the device from the serial port
and reboot the PC. After Windows reboots, plug the device in. If you
can communicate with the device when you do this then this is the
problem. The solution is to to put a NoSerialMice clause in your
Boot.INI file. For details refer to:
