Sent messages stuck in Outbox

[DMD guy]

Most of these posts are so old, that I am wondering what the up to date
solutions are? I bought Steve Cochran's software back when I had a problem
with Outlook
Express on my m.e. system, probably about a year ago. Can it help with this
Vista, Windows mail problem? Is Windows Live Mail still a possible solution?
I can't reply or send new messages. Any sending gets stuck in the outbox.

Move any messages that will, to the Drafts Folder.

Apply this Microsoft Hotfix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090

Download and then install.

Steve Cochran provides several applications, which one do you refer to?
http://www.oehelp.com/default.aspx

WMUtil will do the job for you, if the hotfix fails.

Although there are fixes and workarounds for most Windows Mail problems,
you are better off upgrading to Windows Live Mail:

Thanks to all 3 of you for responding.
Mac: After I successfully downloaded the program, I could not open it.
This was the error message: Installer encountered an error: 0x8007000d.
The data invalid.
Gary: Does going with Windows Live Mail mean that I lose all of the emails
that are in my inbox in my existing Windows Mail program?

Installing Windows Live Mail does not remove anything from Windows Mail.

Thanks to all of you. I may eventually end up installing Live, but for
now the 2nd installation of the KB941090 worked. As I previously
wrote, the 1st download appeared to be successful - it left an icon
on my desktop, but it wouldn't open and gave me an error
message. I deleted the program from the desktop icon and re-
loaded it. The 2nd time it worked. hurray!
