Sent mail appears in drafts folder

Hi, my dad recently purchase a PC with Vista of course, and he uses
Windows mail. He finds that sent messages will appear in his drafts
folder after a few days. I didn't believe him, thought it was
something he was doing, but it is true......so although it is not more
than an annoyance, anyone come across this, and if so, can it be
remedied?

For security he uses Shaw (his internet provider's software) I think
it is called Shaw Secure......I thought that might have something to
do with it.....

Thanks, Bevin B.

If this application is installed on his machine rather than a feature of
Shaw's email service and it's setup to scan email, it very likely is the
problem. In general ALL local email scanners should be considered
incompatible with ALL emails clients at some level - its entirely in the
nature of the beast that the way they must work will eventually cause
problems with email flow, not an "IF", but a "WHEN". Email scanning belongs
on an email server. The resident, local file system scanner, if kept
current, will take care of anything that might slip through a server based
email scanner.
