sent items folder is empty

Until recently, sent messages have been saved to the Sent Items folder.
However, now the Sent Items folder only displays "There are no items to show
in this view."

The folder size is 193584 KB.

Based on other posts on this discussion group, I have tried checking and
unchecking the "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder." I have also
switched between "Archive items in this folder using the default settings"
and "Do not archive items in this folder." The Archiving rules move items to
the archive.pst file (not delete).

The most recent message in the Archived Sent Items is dated 05/26/2006, so I
am missing almost a year and a half of sent messages.

The only software that has been installed is related to a replacement sound
card about a month or so ago. After reading KB241713, I also unchecked the
Exchange Extensions property pages and Fax Server Extension Add-Ins.

When making these changes, I've also closed Outlook, then opened to see if
any of the options needed to be loaded when opening the program.

My Sent Items folder is still displaying "There are no items to show in this
view."

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Sounds to me you have you have a view filter applied to show unread items
only. Switch or reset your view to show all items.
