Sent emails different format

Hello, one of our Outlook 98 users reports that recipients outside the
corporate LAN see his emails in a different font and text than the font and
text he sent them in. He currently has his TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> MAIL FORMAT ->
Message set to "Microsoft Rich Text Format". Is this a problem with his
Outlook 98? I don't think he should have to use "Plain Text" all the time, if
in fact that setting fixes this problem. Thanks.
 
It could be the recipient is set up for text only. It could be the recipient
does not have the font the sender is using.
