Sending fax problem under Windows XP Pro

I have upgraded from Windows XP Home to Windows XP Pro.
Before upgrading, I was able to send faxes, but after upgrading I get error
messages saying that the line is busy.
I have read about this problem and http://www.microsoft.com/hcl but I don't
think it couldb be the case, as the fax worked with the home edition.
The line is not busy. I have switched on the speaker of the modem and I can
see that the moden picks the line, the tone sounds and it starts to dial but
suddenly it stops and gives the above error message.

Hello, I have just found the solution: I have switched off the dialing tone
detection in the modem properties and the fax feature is working again. For
some unknown (for me) reason, it doesn't work properly in Windows XP Pro...
At least in Spain.

Might also want to consider changing modem driver. Your "upgrade" to Pro
might have changed it, and this error message frequently indicates an
incompatible driver.
