I can receive mail in my windows (vista) mail inbox on my pc but cant send
any. My sent messages just sit in the out box & dont go anywhere. I have
tried hitting send/receive all but still not working

EXACTLY,,,,Amanda, what happens to me. I have talked to my cable company,
Compaq and Microsoft with no solution. There is talk in communities of this
problem and it has to do with reseting your server settings. If it works,
I'll get back with you.

Hi, I really wish I had never got Vista, my scanner and external storage are
not compatible and I can not use Hotmail and also my POP 3 does not send
from the Outbox when I use Windows Mail. I feel Vista is a total shambles
give me XP anyday. If anybody can help please post the solution.

For messages stuck in the Outbox, download and install this fix with Windows
Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether to use the 32-bit version or the
64-bit version, try the 32-bit version first. Certain common antivirus
programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee, or a recent
one from Trend, tend to cause such problems, although seldom
immediately, so if you have such a program, remember where to find
the fix - you are likely to need it again.

If this doesn't help, show us the full error messages if any you get
when you try to send and receive.

Windows Mail does not work with Hotmail. If you want a program
that does, you can download and install Windows Live Mail, which
does:
