sending email from outlook

I route my yahoo email thru outlook. For 5 years it has worked fine. As of
two days ago, it appears to always be sending one of one email even though
there are none in the outbox or draft email folder. Also, I can receive
email, but I cannot send any email out. Any thoughts?

Do you have any send/receive errors?
Could it be a stuck read receipt?

No errors at all. Whenever I open up Outlook it automatically starts a
"sending message 1 of 1" at the bottom tray. There are no outbox msgs. The
"sending 1 of 1" just sits there for quite some time and then eventually it
disappears.

I don't you send receipt, so that isn't it either.

How many accounts do you have configured in Outlook?
What type of accounts are they?
Which version of Outlook are we talking about here?

Yes, no receipt issues.

1. I only have one account on outlook
2. this is just my home email account - routed thru yahoo
