sending email from clients

I am having problems sending emails out from my computer.
The problem is the same for outlook and incredimail.
I write an email and click send, the client sends it and puts it into the
sent items but it never arrives.
I use an adsl in Spain with Wanadoo (now orange I believe), I run a laptop
off the same router and have no trouble.
I have McAfee SecurityCenter running.

Have you:

1) Checked the 'sending' server name on both PC and laptop?

2) Test with McAfee disabled?

Yes to both, its set up exactly the same on both computers and I've disabled
every part of McAfee systematically.

I would now "test" sneding emails with either Outlook Express or get
Thinderbird. This would "narrow" down is problem is with Outlook/
Increadimail or Windows.
