Sending an email from a specific Contact Record OL 2003 and 2007

I teach Outlook and one of my students asked about this: When in a contact
record and hit New Message to Contact.....is there any way to have Outlook
default to JUST ONE Email address (in the case of multiple addresses)? My
suggestion was just to pay attention to which is populating and delete the
one(s) you don't want. He wants OL to only populate with the main
address.....can this be done?

I learn so much by teaching....everyday someone asks me about something that
never occurred to me! THANK you all for this wonderful site!!!

All valid email addresses for that contact will be displayed. The other
side of the coin to his request would be a huge number of complaints you'd
see about the extra steps needed to find the email address you want to use
for a given contact - "Why does it only show the main address, it should
show me a list I can pick from!". The same thing applies to Fax numbers,
which Outlook also sees as a valid address. Why? Well, Microsoft's Fax
engines all integrate with Outlook (kinda, sorta); If you have Fax installed
and setup with Outlook, you can send a contact a Fax just like you can send
him an email.

Thanks Hal!!! That's what I thought....but now that it's confirmed I'll let
him know that he'll just have to delete as he goes....NOT a big deal. I
appreciate your quick response on this!!
