send/receive in ms outlook email

I have just set both my children up on ms outlook for email. One user
account and email address works wonderfully, the other is almost there but I
have a problem with sending and receiving. It doesn't go immediately or
receive immediately despite having the exact same settings as the other user
and email. We have to click on send/receive and select the account that we
wish to receive/send from. Any suggestions?? Thanks. SM :(

What version of Outlook are you using? Post the exact build number as
reported in Help-> About

So messages are only sent when you press Send/Receive after pressing the
Send button in the mail?
Make sure that "Send immediately when connected" is enabled in Tools->
Options-> tab Mail Setup
