Hi,

After removing and reinstalling Outlook, the problem persists: Outlook gets
stuck when sending / receive, for no apparent reason. I reinstalled it,
deleted all acounts and created new ones, to no avail. Am I condemned to
reinstalling Windows?

Thanks
Luis

Are you using Norton or McAfee for antivirus? Turn off scanning incoming and
outgoing email, this will not affect your security.

Kathleen, thanks. I am using Bitdefender, and did not make any changes in the
configuration prior to problem starting. I turned off "Real Time Protection",
but am afraid of incoming virus.

PS - no way. Even with V turned off problem persists.

I would turn that right back on. What you can check is your polling frequency
and make sure you don't have antivirus scanning your incoming and outgoing
mail.

Thanks. Bitdefeneder is back on. I found the way to stop scanning in and
outgoing e-mails, and also increased server timeouts - after reinstalling
Outlook they were quite short.

The outgoing message is still stuck, and there is no inbound traffic,
altough I know I have messages in the server, via a webmailer.

I started OL on safe mode, to delete the outgoing message, and performed
Send / receive, to no avail...

Sorry, I do not know if this helps: when I reinstalled OL, it did not create
a new Outlook.pst file. I had the old one renamed prior to installation, but
OL would not start and I had to give it back the normal name.

Kathleen, thanks, but I decide to reinstall everything, from Windows. I've
been trying to sort this out since wednesday.

I do not understand why even Repair option when reinstalling Windows did not
work!

Anyway, thanks for your assistance.

Luis
