SEND/RECEIVE button does not work

Hi,
I can get mail by clicking on the pull-down for SEND/RECEIVE and selecting
one of my two accounts. However, the button for send/receive all pops up a
window for errors but no errors are listed.

It worked before my computer experienced bad boards which resulted in HP
fixing it and doing a system recovery. I've checked the account settings
which are fine.
I am using Vista.

Is there a setting somewhere that must be set?

When I had something similar, it was due to interference from an
antivirus program, but not much of it yet. What if any antivirus
programs do you have, and have you ever had a Norton or McAfee
antivirus program on that computer, even one of the trial versions
that often come with new computers?

Check your list of installed programs. If it includes SMS Desktop,
Google Desktop, or Google Toolbar, uninstall it. Web sites that
let you do a Google search are not a problem.
 
That problem is typically caused by a non-compatible antivirus.
Which antivirus program are you running?
 
I have the same issue. I do not have any of the google or sms packages
discussed and my antivirus is live one care
