Send Problems

Phil Widincamp

When trying to send e-mail, I get the following error msg:
- Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify
the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 530
authentication required - for help go to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sbc/dsl/mail/pop/pop-11.html'

Have worked with ISP provider and confirmed all settings but cannot send
e-mail via Outlook 2007. Receive ok and can send via netmail.

Phil when you are sending email is it through a yahoo email address or an sbc

If the ISP provider AT&T? Did you read the file accessed via the URL?

that statement about the internet would be incorrect brian because if phil
uses a wireless connection and is accidently connecting on the wrong wireless
network that uses a different ISP he can get sending issues because the
wrong server would be trying to send his email. i have seen this happen
numerous times hence why the question about wireless was asked

That's not "how", that's "where". Whether its a wired connection or a
wireless one, for any one network Outlook will behave the same. I was
implying from your post, perhaps incorrectly, that you thought a wired
connection to a person's ISP would behave differently from a wireless
connection. It won't. If they're connected to an ISP other than their own,
be it wired or wireless, Outlook could have trouble. So what I said is
true: Outlook neither knows nor cares how you connect; i.e., the physical
layer of the network connection is inconsequential.
