send email smtp not respondin

Ok I have been trying for days to set up my windows mail.. I am now
recieveing smtp error not responding when I stop it I recieve the account
and the server show
mail.bellsouth.net

Is this correct.....

Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection and even Symantec says it's not necessary:

You probably need to do step 16.
"Put a check in the box next to Outgoing server requires authentication. "

Are you the same Glenda who posted yesterday in the thread "send email"?
That thread mentioned Webroot Spy Sweeper and Trend Micro antivirus.
If so, I responded in that thread yesterday.
