Send e-mail

I have been using outlook to send e-mail. I switched to windows mail and
cannot send e-mail. Mail is received but cannot send.

I can still send from outlook but not windows mail. My SMTP server and
acount is correct. The error message received with windows mail is;

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Re: MAY
FISHING TRIP', Account: 'pop.charter.net', Server: 'smtp.charter.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 you are not allowed to send mail to
<[email protected]>', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error
Number: 0x800CCC79

I attempted check the authentication setting but cannot understand what must
be changed. I have reviewed the security settings but still cannot figure it
out.

Can anyone help.

People, it's really very simple. If you are away from home,
you can't use your home ISP to send mail on port 25.

You are connecting from myvzw.com, which I believe is a
wireless ISP (Verizon). That's not Charter. Unfortunately,
Charter does not accommodate travelers by allowing outgoing
mail on an alternate port. You have two choices, both of which
require setting up a separate email account.

a) Set up an additional email account, with the same settings
as your existing one, except for the outgoing mail server use
the one that myvzw.com provides. OR

b) Get a free Gmail account. As in a), set up a new account
in WinMail but using Gmail's SMTP server. This will work
anywhere in the world, regardless of where you are getting
your internet connection. You could even make this your
primary account.

Nigel; Thanks for the information. My problem was with the verizon wireless
card I have. Changed my SMTP to VZWmail.net and system now works.

You were the only person that spoke my language.

Thanks.
